Comments: I’m a completionist. So I had every intention of buying each book in Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse series, but then Penguin severed its ties with the OverDrive library lending program. All of my ebooks are bought through my library’s OverDrive portal so they get a donation every time I shop. If Penguin won’t sell to my library, then they lose the opportunity to sell to me as well. I found a series published by Sourcebooks that is available through OverDrive. That’s the series I will buy now. Goodbye, Sookie and Penguin.

Comments: Territorial restrictions are very annoying and frustrating. I can buy all the title in printed form but I cannot carry around printed book like I can digital on my smartphone. I like to have the book I am currently reading in my pocket all the time – and my phone is always with me.

I had read close to 200 eBooks until I found I could no longer purchase eBooks in Australia from Fictionwise.com and stopped reading altogether for about 3 years. That represents a loss of over $400.00 aud that I would have spent on eBooks over that time – not to mention the loss pleasure and learning I get from reading over this time.

I can now buy a reasonable range of eBooks again and I am again reading books. I am still frustrated by not being able to purchase books by some of my favorite writers i.e Wilbur Smith (and others).

I will not purchase books printed on paper as they are inconvenient to carry, paper usage is harmful to the environment, reflections off white pages is tiring on my eyes and cant be read in poor light (or in the dark).
